PRACTICE
Ms. Fochtman has extensive experience in wage and hour matters,
preventative employment and labor law, discrimination and sexual
harassment litigation, wrongful discharge litigation, employment
training, and preparation of personnel policies and procedures.
Ms. Fochtman has
extensive experience representing employers in Department of Labor
and California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement audits, Labor
Commissioner hearings, and in the litigation of wrongful termination
and discrimination cases. Ms. Fochtman has served as trial attorney
in federal and state court, arbitrations and before the California
Labor Commissioner. She maintains an active practice throughout
Northern California.

EDUCATION
Ms. Fochtman received her B.S. degree in Business from Northern
Illinois University in 1980, and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from
New York Law School in 1989. While at New York Law School, Ms. Fochtman
received the Jackson Award for outstanding performance in labor
relations law. Ms. Fochtman was employed as a Human Resources Manager
by Dow Jones & Company, publisher of The Wall Street Journal
from 1981 to 1986.
